What Is CMS : Content Management System?
A content management system CMS, is a software or a program used for managing content, mainly web content in a very easy way, some examples of these content management systems are : Joomla, wordpress, Php Web site and phpbb2, Simple machine for managing bulletin borads.
Content management systems are used basically for interactive use by a potentially large number of contributors. Users, moderators, such functionality allow several user to update and add content in a very easy way, or for ease of use by one user, mainly the administrator of the web site.
The advantages of most content management systems are the ease of use, they all save so much time working on every single web page separately, and the most important point about these systems that the most are free for use, in other words, open source, such as Joomla, Php web site, and word press, these ready made web sites are now days offered as part of a hosting plan, where web users have just to add their ready data, pictures, contact information, etc, a matter of few clicks and the web site is already online and going.
The content managed includes but not limited to : web pages, texts, files, images, thus, the web content management system is a content management system with additional features to ease the tasks required to publish web content to web sites.
